It's like the Great Pyramid! The Great . . . Stitchamid? Pyrastitch? Pyro Stitch? Whatever it is, it is truly awe-inspiring.

I am thinking that you need one of those Plushie hammocks that hangs from the ceiling as well. (The only store that has them at this time of year is Toys R Us. According to the folks at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Meijer, they are a 'seasonal item'. The illogic burns! EVERY season is plushie season, I tell you!) Maybe one of those chains that you clip the plushies onto, too.

I thought of you and Mr. Tiki yesterday at Toys R Us when I saw the SpudTrooper sitting on the shelf next to Darth Tater. (They also had that spherical Stitch.)

The trouble with the hammocks that I haven't quite worked out yet--this is the attic, so screwing something into the "ceiling" is actually liable to put a hole in the roof!

BTW, I thought I was *over* wanting a dragon for a pet, but now I find I want one just like Errol in Guards! Guards! Um, though maybe a potty-trained version.

Errol is very cute! I am SO happy you're liking Discworld! ^_____^ Did you say you had finished Wyrd Sisters?

It's VERY addictive!! Very Month Python.

Let's see, I've finished Wyrd Sisters, I'm in the middle of Guards! Guards! and there's one on the dining room table, I think it's Reaper Man. (Stuff is kinda disorganized with the painters coming.) They said on Amazon Reaper Man was a good one?

Reaper Man is good. It has Death in it (okay, most of the books have Death, but he's a main character in this one)! It's the second Death-centric book (Mort comes before it), but I think you should be okay reading it.

Really the next ones to read depend on which books you liked. (I'll try not to get TOO confusing here, but you can tell me if I am.) There are five or six different subseries' (I just recommended the first in my favorites). The next City Watch book after Guards! Guards! is Men At Arms (then it's Feet of Clay, then Jingo, and three or four more). The next book with the witches is Witches Abroad and then there's Lords & Ladies, which has elves (not the Tolkien kind *evil smirk*), and a few more. There are also some stand alone books. (The Truth is really good - it's about Discworld's first newspaper.)

The ones I don't recommend, at least to start with, are the Rincewind books (the first three are pretty bad because they were some of the first Discworld books. The later ones are pretty good.) so avoid The Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, and Sourcery.

There are also a couple Discworld short stories that can be found on the web.

OK. I'm really liking Guards! Guards! so I might try Men at Arms next. I've got jury duty coming up, so I'm gonna need something to amuse.

I am utterly thrilled that you like Discworld. I love getting other people addicted to my favorite authors.

The Ankh-Morpork City Watch books are a big favorite with a lot of fans. I love Men at Arms (granted, I could probably say this about at least half of the Discworld books depending on my mood). In my opinion, the books just get better and better as they go on. The Watch books go: Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay, Jingo, The Fifth Elephant, Night Watch, Thud! (Thud! was just released late last year and it's only in hardcover at the moment, but it'll probably be out in paperback by the time you get through the rest.)

Probably the best ever Discworld website is http://www.lspace.org/ and they even have a City Watch short story called Theatre of Cruelty on the site that comes between Guards! Guards! and Men at Arms. (It's not something you absolutely MUST read, but hey, it's free!) They also have a Discworld reading order chart that shows the different subseries' and how they connect.

Anyway, keep me posted on what you think of them!

I hate to be the poor sap that usually sleeps in that bed =)

Oh, it's not a bed, just a wooden shelf that hides a clawfoot tub. Woe upon anyone who dives into the pile o' Stitchies, for they will get a concussion!
